The PADI Basic Freediver course is a subset of the PADI Freediver course. This is the beginners course, It’s a great first step for developing solid freediving skills. You learn basic freediving principles and focus on practicing breathhold techniques in a pool or confined water site. The biggest concern for most is that they "can`t hold their breath". This is the course to learn how. An ideal for swimmers, SCUBA divers and other water enthusiasts.
To enroll in our PADI Basic Freediver course you must be 16 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.
Younger than 16? 8 year olds and older can enroll in the PADI Skin Diver course and start the fun.
Diveworld has always believed in going to the best for diver training. We have been affiliated with specialist Freediving Trainer, Steve Millard for many years. Steve is a renowned expert, international trainer and judge in the very specialised field and is highly qualified to give our students the best Freediver training possible. We believe in offering the best person for the job rather than an instructor who has simply passed a qualification and capable of delivering the bare minimum.
Our alliegance was instrumental in developing the Performance Mermaids group at ou Sheffield training facility, you will find the mermaids at most of the Diveworld Club nights.

The PADI Basic Freediver course consists of two main phases:
Contact us and get the PADI Freediver Touch tablet app. The Touch is an interactive study tool that gives you the background information you need to freedive safely and allows you to study at your own pace.
Good news – the PADI Freediver Touch also includes all study materials for the PADI Freediver, Advanced Freediver and Master Freediver courses.
In the PADI Basic Freediver course, you learn to use a mask, snorkel and fins, and may also use a wetsuit and weight belt. Using gear designed specifically for freediving is best, however, in this course, you may be able to use snorkeling equipment you already own.
Check with us about the gear you’ll use during this course and get advice about everything you need from your Steve & his team.
