Hope For A New World Order.

Opinion StevenHird COMMENTS 23 Apr, 2021

Long Awaited Good News.

After a couple of false dawns, the signs are looking positive.

  • Pools re-opening-  our first club night is scheduled for May 17th, call us to book.
  • Hopefully full training will resume in June as all activities can take place in pools.
  • Open water diving is all good as long as sensible precautions are adhered to.
  • Our UK dive trips are back in full swing, starting with St Abbs in May.
  • Certain foreign jaunts are possible to "green light" countries, first is to Egypt in September.

The welcome return to regular club nights at Ponds Forge is a real boost, it will be awesome to be able to catch up with all our club members. If you are not a Diveworld club member, that could not be simpler to rectify. Simply contact us with your request to become a member and we will take it from there. The club is entirely free to join, we want you to come dive with us.

The inland dive sites have all worked wonders in re-opening, putting safety protocols in place while still allowing divers as much freedom as possible to enjoy their diving. We would like to thank them all, especially Capernwray where we do most of our training, for how well they have handled this difficult situation. As the weather improves why not join us to refresh your skills in the water before venturing out to the more serious diving?

Capernwray have even invested in new features for the site, an awesome new compressor system and even more exciting a massive pilot vessel. Wreck penetration practice for all. Can`t wait!

Our UK dive trips are booking up fast, we have St Abbs, Plymouth Wrecks & Sharks and Farne Island seals on the books so far, there may be more to come.

Even better we may yet get some sunshine this year. Our operators, Oonas and Blue O2 have been spectacular in handling this unique situation which has decimated the travel industry. All the trips we had booked in 2020 were rescheduled on many occassions, keeping all deposits safe.  At last we have been offered destinations that are safe (with the proviso that everyone travelling has had both Vaccines).

Marsa Shagra Eco-Village on the Red Sea has always been our favorite place in the world to stay and dive. Its back. Our first trip is this September for a week of unlimited diving, our trips offer extras to normal bookings as we have been returning to this amazing destination for over 15 years. A small deposit secures your place.

We have not stood still during this latest lockdown. We have secured equipment supplies from some of the elite equipment ranges such as Azdry, X-Deep, Apeks/Aqualung, Tusa and Ocean Reef. We can service and maintain these brands for you too. Optical masks are not a problem either, just bring us your prescription.

All positive signals. We even have a new regulator in the offing from X-Deep. Having been promised for a good while and then delayed with Brexit and Covid uncertainties, the all new NX700 regulator is finally seeing the light of day.

Check out this YouTube review for the highlights of the NX700 regulator from X-Deep.

Any questions about anything scuba are welcome, we can fill you in on the trip details if you would like more information, just give us a call.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the club night on the 17th.
