Ever wondered if mermaids are real? Experience the mermaid life yourself with this pool based course led by our very own mermaid pod. This unique, relaxed course gives you the chance to develop mermaid skills and experience the fun of mermaiding.
To enroll in the PADI Mermaid course you must be 6 years old or older. You need to be capable of swimming at least 25metres without swim aids and be in good physical health. No prior experience is needed.
The PADI Basic mermaid course consists of knowledge development which supports a confined water (pool) skill development session to introduce the fun of fundamental mermaid diving. The course will cover the background and culture, primary safety considerations, equipment and basic water skills of mermaid diving. The course has two phases:

What equipment will you use?
In the PADI Basic Mermaid course, you will use a monofin and mermaid tail, mask, snorkel and fins, and may also use a wetsuit and weight belt. Using gear designed specifically for mermaiding is best, however, in this programme, you may be able to use snorkeling equipment you already own, it will be provided if not. Freediving equipment is usually suitable for mermaiding too.
