Experience the mermaid life fully led by our very own mermaid pod. This unique course gives you the chance to develop mermaid skills and experience the fun of mermaiding. The course develops mermaid skills to become an underwater expressive art form, totally seperate from other diving disciplines. This course includes Basic Mermaid so you do not have to have done this first, jump straight into PADI Mermaid.
To enroll in the PADI Mermaid course you must be 10 years old or older. You need to be capable of swimming at least 50 metres without swim aids, be capable of floating comfortably on the surface for at least 5 minutes and be in good physical health. No prior experience is needed.
The PADI Mermaid course consists of knowledge development which supports at least two confined water (pool) skill development sessions. The course will cover the background and culture, primary safety considerations, equipment and basic water skills of mermaid diving. The course has two phases:

What equipment will you use?
In the PADI Mermaid course, you will use a monofin and mermaid tail, mask, snorkel and fins, and may also use a wetsuit and weight belt. Using gear designed specifically for mermaiding is best, however, in this programme, you may be able to use snorkeling equipment you already own, it will be provided if not. Freediving equipment is usually suitable for mermaiding too.
